The Susan Bergman Gurrentz ‘56 Art Gallery has hosted a diverse range of visiting artists over the years. With the space situated on Chatham University’s campus, artists have exclusive opportunities to interact with an engaged student body in lectures, receptions, and other events.

The Process

  • Applications are accepted yearly, from January 1 - April 30. Applications must be filled out completely for consideration.

    Note: exhibitions are scheduled 2 years in advance.

  • Applications will be reviewed by the Gallery Committee, made up of Chatham University Arts & Design faculty members, in early May of each application cycle.    

  • Accepted proposals will be contacted at the end of May. Shortly after, applicants will receive full instructions and exhibition specifics during a Zoom meeting.

The Gallery Committee is currently not accepting submissions.

Proposals will be accepted starting January 2027.

FAQs

  • Exhibition can be proposed by any practicing artist, group of artists, and/or curator. Please note, we do prioritize exhibition proposals from artists/curators within a 150-mile radius of Pittsburgh. 

  • Notification will be sent via email at the end of May, each application cycle.

    Note: exhibitions are scheduled 2 years in advance. 

  • There is no cost to exhibit your work. Chatham University will pay for a reception and can provide stipends for extra programming (class visits, workshops, and/or artist talks). Artists will be responsible for shipping artwork to Chatham University if not hand-delivering.
